Vreni - FIMRC

Name: Vreni Pigorsch

Position on Executive Board: President

Major(s): Strategic Communications with a Certificate in Leadership

Your favorite thing about Madison: I love the balance between the lakes and the city. I’m a country girl living in the city, so I love getting the best of both worlds!

What drew you to FIMRC?: I joined FIMRC my freshman year when I was first looking for a student organization to be a part of. What drew me to FIMRC the most was the main focus of helping children in third world countries. I have always loved kids, I even worked at a daycare growing up, so I was drawn specifically to FIMRC’s ability to help children overseas by bringing awareness to their health issues in my Madison community. The fun socials and meaningful volunteering opportunities were just an exciting bonus!

Your favorite thing about Madison: I love Madison’s unique atmosphere. Whether it’s during a game day, a Saturday morning at the farmer’s market, or sitting out on the terrace, there’s always that feeling in the air that’s so hard to describe in words, but so well-known to the people that are lucky to live here.

What drew you to FIMRC?: FIMRC’s dedication to helping those in need around the world, and in our very own community, is what drew me to this great organization :).

Treasurer

Your favorite thing about Madison: if someone were to ask me what my favorite thing about Madison is the only thing that pops into my head is taking them to state street and then breaking out into song and dance as I explain the incredible city that is Madison, so basically the Aladdin song A Whole New World. Also, the food, I love the food.

What drew you to FIMRC?: Well like so many freshman I wanted to get involved on campus to make my parents happy. Logan who was my roommate freshman year told me about FIMRC and it interested me because A) Children are adorable and B) Helping them by providing supplies, medicine, and healthcare seemed like something I could get into.

Major(s): Strategic Communications

Your favorite thing about Madison: I love the terrace! There is just something about sitting in colorful chairs, staring at the lake and hanging out with friends, that makes Madison like no other place that I have ever been.

What drew you to FIMRC?: I have always loved volunteering, so when I came across FIMRC at the org fair, their mission of volunteering and lending out a helping hand to those in third world countries drew me in. Also, the atmosphere at FIMRC meetings and gatherings is great. Everyone in the club is so nice and I’ve met some really great people because of FIMRC. It is the best of both worlds when you can help others out along side people who share the same interests as you!
